NanoSlides Privacy Policy

Version 1.0

Last updated: December 6, 2025

What does this policy cover?

Welcome to NanoSlides, the online and mobile services operated by NanoSlides.ai ("NanoSlides", "we", "us" or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information in connection with our visual communication and presentation platform (the "Service"), and the choices you have regarding that information.

Capitalized terms not defined in this Privacy Policy have the meanings given to them in our Terms of Use. If you do not want your information to be handled as described in this Privacy Policy (in whole or in part), you should not use the Service. This Policy applies to all users of the Service.

Summary: This policy explains what information NanoSlides collects about you, how we use it, with whom we share it, and what choices and rights you have.

1. Information we collect

We collect the following types of information about you:

(a) Information you provide directly

When you register a NanoSlides account or communicate with us, we may ask you to provide certain information, such as:

  • Username
  • First and last name
  • Date of birth
  • Phone number
  • Occupation
  • Physical address
  • Email address

We also collect:

  • Messages you send to us through the Service (for example, support requests)
  • Information you provide in User Content published to or stored in the Service, such as text, images, slides, PPT files and other media you upload to use in your Designs and templates

We use this information to operate, maintain and provide you with the features and functionality of the Service, to communicate with you, and to resolve issues you raise.

If you choose not to provide certain personal information, you may not be able to access or use some parts of the Service, or your experience may be limited.

Summary: We collect the information you choose to give us when you create an account, use NanoSlides, or contact us.

(b) Information we receive from third-party applications

We may receive information about you from third-party services. For example, if you access the Service through a third-party connection or login (such as "Sign in with Google" or "Sign in with Facebook"), or if you follow, like, install or integrate a NanoSlides application on a third-party platform, that third party may pass certain information to us.

This may include:

  • User ID associated with your account on that service (e.g., Facebook UID)
  • Access tokens needed to access that service
  • Any information you have allowed the third party to share with us
  • Any content or information you disclose in connection with the Service on that platform

If you choose to integrate with third-party applications (for example to import content, enhance media, automate your workflow, or share Designs to social media), we may receive data from such applications and may send certain data back to them.

If you communicate with us through social media (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, TikTok) and choose to share your user-generated content with us, we may receive information such as:

  • Videos you created
  • Photos
  • Your social media handle or account name
  • Comments or messages related to NanoSlides

You can disconnect your third-party account from the Service by adjusting settings in the third-party service. If you disconnect, we will stop receiving new information from that third party in connection with the Service.

Summary: When you connect NanoSlides with other apps or social media, those apps may send us information about you, and we may send some information back to them.

(c) Information we receive from other third parties

We may obtain information about you from other third-party sources, such as:

  • Public sources
  • Social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter/X)
  • Third-party data providers and information services

The information we obtain may include:

  • Company name
  • Company size
  • Job title and role
  • Industry
  • Professional profile and qualifications

We may share identifiers such as your email address or other information with these providers in order to receive enriched data about you and combine it with information you provide to us or that we collect when you use the Service. We do this to better understand our users and their interests so we can:

  • Offer tailored discounts and promotions
  • Provide more personalized services and communication (e.g., via email, in-app messages, chatbot, phone call, or targeted advertising)

Some providers may combine data collected from our Service via cookies, pixels, tags, and similar technologies with email or mailing addresses they hold, in order to help us display relevant offers.

We may also receive your details from other NanoSlides users (for example, when they share a Design or template with you).

Additionally, we may receive information from ad servers, ad networks and social media platforms about your interaction with our ads, including which websites you visited before NanoSlides, so we can measure campaign effectiveness and compensate our referral partners.

If you do not want your information to be used for this type of enrichment, you can opt out at any time by emailing [email protected].

Summary: We sometimes use third-party data to better understand who our users are and to personalize offers. You can opt out.

(d) Information we automatically collect

We (or our analytics providers) automatically collect certain information about how you use the Service, such as:

  • Pages or screens you visit
  • Features you use
  • Time spent on pages
  • Links you click
  • General usage patterns

We use analytics tools to measure traffic and usage trends. These tools collect information sent by your browser or device (see log file information below) to help us improve the Service.

For more information about the analytics cookies we use and how to opt out of third-party collection, see our Cookie Policy.

Summary: We automatically collect some usage information to understand and improve NanoSlides.

(e) Cookies and similar technologies

When you access the Service, we (and our third-party partners) may send one or more cookies (small text files containing a string of alphanumeric characters) to your device to uniquely identify your browser and help NanoSlides:

  • Log you in faster
  • Remember your preferences
  • Improve your experience
  • Understand how you navigate and use the Service over time

Cookies and similar technologies also allow us and our partners to:

  • Measure traffic and usage trends
  • Deliver personalized content and advertising
  • Identify potential new users with similar interests

You can control or reset your cookies through your browser settings to:

  • Block all cookies
  • Delete existing cookies
  • Notify you when a cookie is set

However, if you disable cookies, some features of the Service may not function properly.

For more details, see our Cookie Policy.

Summary: We use cookies to make NanoSlides work better for you and for analytics and advertising. You can manage cookies in your browser.

(f) Log file information

Each time you access the Service, your browser or device automatically sends log file information, which our servers may record. This may include:

  • Your IP address
  • Browser type
  • Referring/exit pages and URLs
  • Number of clicks
  • How you interact with links
  • Domain names
  • Landing pages
  • Pages viewed

Summary: Whenever you load a page on NanoSlides, your browser sends us technical information, which we store in logs.

(g) Clear GIFs / web beacons

We may use clear GIFs (also known as web beacons) to track usage patterns anonymously. We may also use clear GIFs in HTML-based emails to track which emails are opened and which links are clicked. This helps us measure the effectiveness of our communications and improve the Service.

Summary: We may use tiny image files to understand email open rates and website usage.

(h) Device identifiers

When you use the Service on a device (such as a smartphone or tablet), we may access, collect and/or monitor one or more "device identifiers", such as:

  • Universally Unique Identifier (UUID)
  • Advertising IDs (e.g., Android Advertising ID, iOS Advertising Identifier)

These identifiers are data files associated with your device that help us:

  • Understand how you use the Service
  • Recognize your device over time
  • Improve login and navigation

If you limit the use of device identifiers, some features may not function properly.

Summary: Your device sends an identifier so we can recognize it and improve your experience.

(i) Location data

NanoSlides may collect information to understand the approximate or precise location of users. This helps us:

  • Localize and personalize content
  • Comply with local laws
  • Conduct aggregate analytics
  • Understand whether users are using the Service for home, business or educational purposes
  • Improve advertising and measure tax obligations

We may collect location information:

  • When you provide, correct, or confirm your location (for example, during a purchase or profile setup)
  • By inferring your location from your IP address
  • From payment providers or partners where applicable

Summary: We may use your location (often approximate) to localize content, comply with laws, and improve analytics and ads.

(j) Content in your account (Designs, PPT files, templates)

We receive and store content you create, upload or import into your NanoSlides account, including:

  • Designs and slides
  • PPT/PPTX files and templates
  • Images, icons, fonts, videos, audio, documents
  • Metadata about your content (e.g., timestamps, file names, usage patterns)

This includes templates or Designs that you choose to mark as public or submit to our template galleries or community showcases.

Summary: We store your Designs, PPT files and templates so we can provide NanoSlides to you, including any content you choose to make public.

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Authenticate you when you log in
  • Provide, operate, maintain and improve the Service

  • Provide and improve features
  • Personalize recommendations (e.g., templates, fonts, layouts)
  • Develop and train algorithms and machine learning models to improve the Service

These activities are carried out under strict access controls and internal policies to protect your privacy. Where required by law or where we consider it appropriate given the nature of the project, we may ask for your prior consent before using certain data for specific machine learning purposes.

Examples include:

  • Predicting which subscriptions or products are most relevant to you
  • Analyzing search terms and results to improve search and recommendation algorithms

  • Recommend templates, components, and fonts based on your past behavior and similar users
  • Suggest public templates or examples you might like
  • Customize the appearance or ordering of content in NanoSlides

  • Respond to your questions and support requests
  • Inform you about new features, updates, surveys, and offers we think may interest you (you can opt out of marketing messages, see Section 7)

Improving the Service

We analyze usage and content to:

  • Understand which features are helpful or confusing
  • Measure feature performance and impact
  • Develop and test new products and features

Advertising

We use information about you, including cookie data and other automatically collected data, to:

  • Provide and measure personalized advertising for NanoSlides on the Service and on third-party websites and platforms
  • Find potential new users with similar interests to our existing users

See Section 4 for more details.

Customer support

We use your information, including content and metadata in your account and your communications with our support team, to:

  • Diagnose technical issues
  • Answer your questions
  • Fix bugs
  • Improve our help resources

Sometimes this may require us to view your Designs, templates or files (for example, to troubleshoot a rendering issue).

Security, fraud prevention and enforcement

We use your information to:

  • Monitor for suspicious or fraudulent activity
  • Detect and prevent abuse, spam and violations of our Terms of Use or Acceptable Use Policy
  • Protect the safety, rights and property of NanoSlides, our users and others

With your consent

From time to time, we may seek your consent to use your information for specific purposes not covered above. If you consent, we will use your information for that purpose. You may withdraw your consent at any time (this will not affect the lawfulness of any processing based on consent before its withdrawal).

Legal obligations

We may use or disclose your information where we reasonably believe it is necessary to:

  • Comply with laws, regulations and legal processes
  • Respond to lawful requests from law enforcement or government authorities
  • Enforce our Terms of Use and Acceptable Use Policy
  • Protect the security or integrity of the Service
  • Protect the rights, property or safety of NanoSlides, our users or others

Summary: We use your information to provide, protect, personalize and improve NanoSlides, to communicate with you, and to comply with legal obligations.

3. How we share your information

(a) Service providers and business partners

We share information with selected third-party service providers who help us operate and improve the Service or support our business. These providers may only access your information as reasonably necessary to perform services on our behalf and are contractually required to handle it in line with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.

Examples include providers that assist with:

  • Billing and payments
  • Customer support and CRM
  • Email and messaging services
  • Hosting and storage
  • Data analytics and predictive analytics
  • Data labeling and machine learning support
  • Security and fraud prevention
  • Advertising and marketing services
  • Domain name registration (if offered)
  • Fulfillment of physical product orders (if applicable)

Summary: We share information with trusted service providers who help us run NanoSlides.

(b) How you share your User Content

(i) Public sharing (including public templates)

Any information or content (including User Content, Designs, or templates) that you choose to make public through the Service may be:

  • Viewed, collected and used by anyone
  • Indexed by search engines
  • Shared by others through links or embeds

This includes, for example:

  • Designs or templates you mark as "public"
  • Templates you submit to NanoSlides community galleries, marketplaces, or showcases
  • Public profile information you choose to display

If you or NanoSlides delete content from the Service, cached or archived copies may still be visible for a period of time, and content already copied or saved by others may continue to be accessible.

When sharing Designs or templates (e.g., as public PPT templates in NanoSlides's public library), please ensure you do not include confidential or sensitive personal information you do not want to disclose.

You can also share your Designs to third-party platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter/X, Pinterest). In that case, their privacy policies apply.

(ii) Teams

If you are a member of a team account, any content you create in that team or activity you undertake within the team may be visible to:

  • Other team members
  • Team owners or administrators

At the request of a team owner, NanoSlides may reassign ownership of User Content created in a team to the team owner or another team member. If you want to keep any content private from your team or employer, you should store it in a separate personal account and not in the team space.

(iii) Design collaboration

If you accept an invitation to view or edit a Design in NanoSlides:

  • Other collaborators may see your name and avatar while you are viewing or editing, regardless of whether they are in your team
  • Your name and last active time may be visible to other editors of the Design

You can control sharing via link settings such as:

  • "Only people added can access" – Only people you explicitly add can view or edit. This is the most private option and the default for new Designs.
  • "Anyone with the link" – Anyone who has the link can view or edit (depending on the setting). This may include non-NanoSlides users and is not recommended for confidential information.
  • "Anyone in your team with the link" – Anyone in your team who has the link can access (if available for your team plan).

Once you share a link, recipients may further share it. NanoSlides does not control that.

Summary: Your Designs are private by default, but you can share them with others (including as public templates). Choose sharing settings carefully for any confidential content.

(c) Business transfers (merger, acquisition, reorganization)

We may share, sell, or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, acquisition, reorganization, financing, sale of assets, bankruptcy or insolvency event involving NanoSlides. Customer information (such as names, email addresses, User Content and other information related to the Service) may be included as part of such transactions.

In such cases, we will notify you via email and/or a prominent notice on the Service of any material changes in how your data is processed.

Summary: If NanoSlides is ever sold or reorganized, your information may be transferred as part of that process.

(d) Your employer

If you use an email address provided by your employer or organization (e.g., business, non-profit, school) and your employer has or is considering a NanoSlides account, you acknowledge that we may:

  • Associate your name, email address, and NanoSlides usage with your employer's account
  • Help your employer understand which users in their domain are using NanoSlides

If your use of NanoSlides is purely personal and you do not want this association, you can opt out at any time by emailing [email protected].

Summary: If you use a work email, we may associate your account with your employer unless you opt out.

(e) Other third-party sharing (integrations)

You may choose to integrate NanoSlides with third-party applications (e.g., cloud storage, collaboration tools, social media). These integrations may involve:

  • Importing data from third parties into NanoSlides
  • Exporting data from NanoSlides to third parties

If connecting accounts is required, we will ask for your permission. These third-party services are not controlled by NanoSlides, and their use of your information is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, not this policy. You should review those policies before enabling any integration.

Summary: When you connect NanoSlides with other apps, we may share data with them at your request. Their privacy rules apply.

(f) Aggregated and de-identified data

We may aggregate or de-identify data (so that it can no longer be reasonably linked to any specific individual) and share such data with third parties for legitimate business purposes, including analytics, research and improving the Service.

Summary: We may share anonymous, aggregated data that does not identify you.

(g) Authorities and legal requests

We may access, preserve and disclose your information to regulatory authorities, law enforcement, courts or other third parties when we believe in good faith that it is necessary to:

  • Comply with applicable laws or legal processes
  • Respond to valid legal requests
  • Detect, prevent or address fraud, security or technical issues
  • Enforce our Terms of Use or Acceptable Use Policy
  • Protect the rights, property or safety of NanoSlides, our users or the public

Summary: We may share data with authorities when legally required or when we believe it's necessary for safety or legal reasons.

4. Advertising

We work with third-party advertising partners (such as Facebook, Google, LiveRamp, Outbrain, Taboola, Appsflyer and others) to:

  • Show personalized ads for NanoSlides on our Service and on third-party sites and apps
  • Measure the effectiveness of our ad campaigns
  • Identify potential new users with similar interests to our existing users

NanoSlides may share certain information with these partners, such as:

  • Email address (hashed where appropriate)
  • IP address or general location
  • Cookie identifiers and device identifiers
  • Information about your use of the Service

These partners may combine this information with data they already have and use it to:

  • Show you NanoSlides ads on other platforms
  • Build "lookalike" audiences for NanoSlides
  • Measure and optimize campaigns

Third-party ad networks may also use cookies, pixels, device identifiers, location data and clear GIFs to:

  • Collect information about your browser or device
  • Understand how you interact with ads
  • Provide more relevant advertising

NanoSlides does not sell or rent information we collect directly from you, or information we obtain about you from third parties, for those third parties' own independent marketing purposes.

Our Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of third-party advertisers or platforms. You should review their privacy policies for more information.

Summary: We use some of your information to show you NanoSlides ads on other websites and measure how well those ads perform. We don't sell your data to third parties for their own marketing.

5. How we transfer, store and process your data

Information collected through the Service may be stored and processed in any country where NanoSlides or our service providers maintain facilities. This may include the United States and other countries that may have different data protection laws than your country.

Where required by law, we implement appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses and other contractual protections) to ensure your personal data remains protected when transferred across borders.

By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries outside your country of residence, including countries that may not provide the same level of data protection, subject to these safeguards.

Summary: To operate NanoSlides, we may store and process your data in different countries. We take steps to protect it wherever it is.

6. Keeping your information safe

NanoSlides cares about the security of your information and uses appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect it, including:

  • Encryption in transit (and where appropriate, at rest)
  • Access controls and authentication
  • Security monitoring and logging

To help protect your account:

  • Use a strong, unique password
  • Keep your login credentials confidential
  • Log out when using shared devices

Despite our efforts, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee that your information will never be accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed by unauthorized parties.

We are not responsible for security or privacy practices of third-party services you connect to NanoSlides (e.g., social networks, cloud storage providers).

Summary: We use industry-standard security measures, but no system is perfectly secure. Protect your password and be careful with third-party apps.

7. Your choices and controls

(a) Controlling your account information and settings

You have several options to control your personal information:

  • You can view, correct, download or delete certain data via your account settings.
  • You can request access, correction or deletion of your data held by NanoSlides by emailing [email protected].
  • You can manage your marketing preferences in your account (where available) or by clicking the "unsubscribe" link in marketing emails.

You cannot opt out of essential service-related communications, such as account verification, billing notices, service changes, or security alerts.

Summary: You can manage most of your information and email preferences in your account or by contacting us.

(b) Cookies and tracking technologies

You can control cookies and similar technologies using browser or device settings. For example, you may:

  • Delete or block cookies
  • Limit tracking on your device
  • Use "Do Not Track" settings (where supported)

Note: Disabling cookies and trackers may impact core functionality and prevent us from providing some personalized features.

For more details, see our Cookie Policy or contact us at [email protected].

Summary: You can reduce tracking by changing your browser or device settings, but some NanoSlides features might not work as well.

(c) Opting out of third-party data enrichment

As described above, we may enrich your profile with information from third-party providers. You can opt out of this by emailing [email protected] and requesting that we stop using third-party enrichment data for your account.

Summary: You can ask us not to use third-party data to personalize offers or communications.

(d) Rights over your information (depending on where you live)

Depending on your country or region, you may have specific legal rights regarding your personal data, including the right to:

  • Request access to your data
  • Request corrections of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Request restriction of certain processing
  • Receive a structured, machine-readable copy of your data (data portability)
  • Object to certain processing (including direct marketing)

If you wish to exercise any of these rights, please contact [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before handling your request.

In some cases, we may not be able to fully comply with your request (for example, if doing so would infringe the rights of another user, or if we are legally required to retain certain data). If we cannot fulfill your request, we will explain why.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe your rights have been violated.

Summary: You may have legal rights over your information (access, correction, deletion, etc.). Email us and we'll help you.

8. How long we keep your information

We retain your personal information and User Content for as long as necessary to:

  • Provide the Service to you
  • Comply with legal, accounting and auditing obligations
  • Resolve disputes and enforce our agreements
  • Maintain backup and archival copies for a reasonable period

If you deactivate or delete your account, we will retain your information for a commercially reasonable period, or as required by law. Content that others have copied, shared, or made public may continue to exist even after deletion from your account.

Summary: We keep your data as long as needed to provide the Service and comply with legal obligations.

9. Links to other websites and services

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third parties. Your use of such sites is subject to their own policies.

If you authorize a third-party service to access your User Content or account (e.g., via integration), their handling of your information is governed by their privacy policy. You use such services at your own risk.

Summary: We're not responsible for what other websites or apps do with your data, even if you access them via NanoSlides.

This section applies to users located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom (UK) or Switzerland.

We only rely on this basis where our interests are not overridden by your data protection rights.
  • Consent – For certain uses, such as some types of marketing, cookies (where required), or specific optional features. You can withdraw consent at any time via your settings or by contacting us.
  • Legal obligations – To comply with applicable laws and regulations, such as responding to lawful requests, maintaining records, and meeting tax and compliance requirements.

If you have questions about the legal basis for processing your data, contact [email protected].

(c) International data transfers

  • Transfer it to a country deemed to provide an adequate level of data protection; or
  • Use appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and, where applicable, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.

Summary: In Europe, NanoSlides is usually the "controller" of your data. We rely on contract, legitimate interest, consent and legal obligations as legal bases and use safeguards for international transfers.
